Requirement
Client owns an existing information system which is based on a database server (Microsoft SQL, Oracle). Client would like the data to be automatically synchronized with Microsoft Exchange (personal or public folder) so that every user could see them in his Outlook or Web Access.
Basic requirements on application are:

Solution
The solution is based on ExchangeSync, a MEMOS Software product. It is a service for Windows which synchronizes in set intervals Microsoft Exchange folders to database server. This service runs only on server where the Microsoft Exchange is installed – there is no need to install anything on client computers. The service is fully configurable with XML definitions thanks to what its administration can be done by a common administrator.
Example of implementation
A marketing company owns a tailored information system which processes all company’s orders. The information system is designed as a web application and users use thin client (web browser) to work with the application. Customer is satisfied with the current application however he lacks the link with Microsoft Outlook functionalities (calendar, tasks).
ExchangeSync service searches through the system for new demands every 5 minutes. In case that the service finds a new demand it will automatically write it down into the personal folder of responsible user. As soon as user starts Outlook or login through Outlook Web Access, Outlook will automatically inform him about the new task. User will open the task, read basic information (termination date, priority etc.) and in case he requires more information he can click on a link in the task’s body which will automatically redirect him to an existing web application for displaying details.
ExchangeSync service also monitors important data in system (projects’ deadlines, dates of trainings etc.) and automatically generates company’s calendar which is placed in Public folders and is thus available to all company’s employees. Therefore, users do not have to open another applications to find out terms of important meetings, all data are right in Microsoft Outlook.
