Requirements:
Devmasters Company which is focusing on custom software development contacted us in order to implement a .NET assembly which will support receiving MMS and SMS messages using GPRS modem connected to PC via MM1 protocol (for MMS) and modem’s AT commands (for SMS).
The application will be used in project called OnTheRoad which is run by Devmasters Company. The project is intended to be used by travellers, active people, sportsmen and sportswomen, artists and photographers. It will enable them staying in close touch with their families, friends, fans and supporters and share with them experiences and new knowledge by means of this server.
The main emphasis is placed on simplicity. The traveller does not need to learn anything new, knowledge of new technologies is not a must for this server and installation of programs to a computer or mobile phone is not needed either.
Solution:
Our professionals have developed a standard .NET assembly which supported multi-modem model (when several GPRS modems can be connected to one PC). Developed components are able to open GPRS connection, receive MMS messages content using MM1 protocol, send and receive SMS messages using modem’s AT commands. After a component is initialized by necessary parameters, calling application is able to receive a standard .NET event with message’s content each time there is an incoming MMS or SMS message.
